What Affects How Much You Pay

Tattoo removal isn't one-size-fits-all. These are the factors our specialists assess at your free consultation to build your personalized treatment plan.

01

Tattoo Size

The single biggest cost driver. We measure your tattoo in square inches using a 1"×1" grid at your consult. Larger tattoos cost more per session but respond proportionally well to PicoWay.

Hello laser Client Journey— 2.5 YEARS

"Since working with Erica, my tattoo has faded dramatically. Because my tattoo covers my entire back, neck, and shoulders, sessions are long and demanding… We're approaching full removal with no scarring or shadowing, which still amazes me."

— Nikki P., Phoenix, AZ (Full back tattoo removal)

02

Ink Colors

Black and dark inks respond fastest. Vibrant colors, especially red, orange, and neon shades, can require additional sessions. PicoWay's multiple wavelengths target a wider range than older Q-switch lasers.

03

Tattoo Age & Ink Density

Older tattoos often fade faster — the body has already begun breaking down ink over time. Newer, densely packed professional tattoos typically require more sessions than faded amateur work.

04

Placement on the Body

Areas with strong circulation (chest, upper arm) clear ink faster than extremities (hands, feet). Body placement can add or reduce sessions needed for full removal.

PHOENIX-SPECIFIC NOTE

Arizona's intense sun means sun protection between sessions is critical. Your treated tattoo should be kept out of direct sunlight and covered with SPF. Tanned skin at the time of treatment requires postponing your session — plan treatments around your outdoor schedule.

PICOWAY® ADVANTAGE

Hello Laser uses Candela PicoWay — picosecond pulses that shatter ink without overheating surrounding skin. The result: fewer sessions, less scarring risk, and effective treatment for multicolor tattoos and all skin types.

05

Your Goal: Full Removal vs. Fading

If you want to fade a tattoo for a cover-up, you may need only 2–4 sessions — far fewer than full removal. Partial fading is one of our most popular and affordable options.

Before & After Tattoo Removal

Every result shown is from an actual Hello Laser client. Individual results vary based on tattoo type, sessions completed, and adherence to aftercare.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Cost & Results FAQ

Questions about pricing, sessions, and what to expect in Phoenix's climate.

How much does tattoo removal cost in Phoenix?

At Hello Laser, session pricing is based on tattoo size measured in square inches. Regular prices range from $125 (up to 1 sq. in.) to $850 (up to 150 sq. in.), with a call for custom quotes on anything over 150 sq. in. Laser Club members save up to 20% — from $100 for the smallest tattoos up to $680 for up to 150 sq. in. Exact pricing is confirmed at your free consultation after we measure your tattoo. Cherry financing and package discounts are also available.

How many sessions will I need?

Most clients need 6–10 sessions for significant fading or full removal, spaced 10–12 weeks apart. Factors that affect this include tattoo age, ink density, ink colors, placement, and your immune response. If your goal is cover-up fading rather than full removal, you may need only 2–4 sessions — a more affordable option. We give you a realistic estimate at your free consult.

What does the free consultation include?

At your free consult, one of our licensed specialists will measure your tattoo using a standardized grid, assess your skin type, ink colors, and depth, and give you a realistic timeline and session estimate. You'll receive an exact price quote with no surprises — and no pressure to book. We only treat for this service at the Biltmore Location.

Is tattoo removal safe for darker skin tones?

Yes. PicoWay is designed for safe treatment across all Fitzpatrick skin types. Our specialists carefully adjust settings to minimize the risk of hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation in melanin-rich skin. We require an in-person consultation for darker skin tones before beginning treatment, and some ink colors (particularly red) are approached with extra care.
