What You’ll Actually Pay for Laser Hair Removal
After two and a half decades of performing laser hair removal and using the Candela GentleMax Pro every day, I’ll give you the straight answer: cost depends on the clinic’s laser, the tech’s skill, the area, and how many sessions are realistically needed.
Here’s how we price treatments at our med spa:
Our Pricing Options
Pay-as-you-go — most clients use this because it’s flexible.
Packages — 8 or more treatment bundles ( to receive a 10% savings).
Membership — $99 down + $39/month (no commitment). Members get discounted laser pricing, plus deals on tattoo removal, facials, and skincare.
Our Standard vs. Member Prices
Area | Regular Price | Member Price |
Underarms | $80 | $52 |
Brazilian / Bikini | $165 | $111 |
Whole Legs | $300 | $199 |
Whole Back | $260 | $175 |
Back of Neck | $80 | $52 |
What Other Phoenix Area Clinics Charge
Most people don’t know how wide the price spread is. Here’s a realistic breakdown based on current Phoenix-area pricing:
Budget / Lower-Cost Clinics
Underarms: $70–$150
Brazilian: $165–$250
Mid-/High-End or Chains
Underarms: $300–$650
Brazilian: $300–$550
Your price depends heavily on laser quality and session count, not just the number on the menu.
Why Device Quality Changes the Price More Than Anything Else
Not all “laser hair removal” is done with a true hair-removal laser.
Many med spas use machines that are designed for pigment, redness, tightening, or resurfacing — not serious hair removal. Those lasers require more sessions, often double.
We use the Candela GentleMax Pro, which fires both:
Alexandrite (755 nm)
YAG (1064 nm)
It’s one of the strongest, most effective hair removal systems made. The older model (GentleMax) was great; the Pro version is faster, has larger spot sizes, and lets us switch wavelengths quickly. That means:
Fewer sessions
Better long-term reduction
More permanent results
What Actually Affects Your Cost
Here’s what determines what you’ll pay:
Quality of the laser
Whether the laser is built for hair removal
Tech skill and years of experience
How aggressively (but safely) the tech treats each session
Whether your area is hormone-driven
How coarse or dense your hair is
How consistent you are with your appointments
We push for the maximum safe fluence every session. That’s why our clients need fewer treatments than many places charging more.
Which Areas Are the Best Value
Some body areas respond quickly because they’re not hormone-influenced:
Arms
Legs
Feet
Men’s front of neck
These usually clear fast and stay clear with minimal maintenance.
More Stubborn Areas (Hormone-Driven)
Bikini / Brazilian
Underarms
Men’s back
Mens’ back of neck
These areas usually need:
8–10 treatments
Maintenance 1–2 times per year if you want to stay perfectly smooth
Realistic Treatment Expectations
With the GentleMax Pro and our experience:
Most non-hormonal areas finish in 6–10 sessions
Hormonal areas need 8–10 + maintenance
Treatment intervals should be consistent for best results
We’ve been doing this 24 years, and our techs have 5–15 years each — this alone drastically increases the efficiency of each session.
How to Tell If a Provider Is Fairly Priced or Overpriced
Fair Pricing Indicators
Uses a laser hair removal that was created with hair removal as its main job (GentleMax Pro or equivalent)
Service providers with real tenure (5+ years)
Aggressive—but safe—fluence settings
Transparent per-area pricing
Honest session expectations (never “3 treatments and done”)
Overpriced / Misleading
Clinics pushing general cosmetic lasers or IPL machines for hair removal
Weak settings to avoid discomfort → you need more sessions
Flashy chains relying on marketing instead of results
Reviews reporting poor results or upselling
Bundled “unlimited packages” that rely on weak lasers to keep you coming back
We see many clients who left some of our biggest competitors laser hair removal chains complaining to us how they experienced pain, poor results, and bait-and-switch pricing at the other places.
Reviews matter — ignoring them is the biggest mistake clients make.
Bottom Line: What You Should Expect to Pay
If you’re comparing fairly across the Phoenix market:
Area | Reasonable Range per Session |
Underarms | $70–$150 |
Brazilian | $165–$250 |
Legs | $200–$400 |
Back | $200–$350 |
Your total cost depends on your laser + the number of sessions required. With the GentleMax Pro, most clients finish in fewer sessions, and that, plus our moderate level pricing is where the true value shows up.
